THE WALCHA MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL IS A FABULOUS TWO-DAY FESTIVAL HELD ANNUALLY DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER IN THE BEAUTIFUL TOWN OF WALCHA, PART OF THE NEW ENGLAND HIGH COUNTRY
Walcha is a lush pasture wonderland with beautiful scenery, public and retail art galleries, antiques, historical buildings, delightful cafes and accommodation just minutes from spectacular waterfalls, World Heritage listed Wilderness Areas and National Parks.
Day One centres around McHattan Park and includes the Farmers Market, Billy Cart Derby and PKF Walcha Road Ride Challenges.
The Walcha Quilt Exhibition is held over both days in the woolshed at historic Langford House. The Quilt Exhibition opening night is on Friday 19 October from 6-9pm at the Langford Woolshed. Cost is $5 and includes wine and finger food. All welcome.
Other events on Saturday include a Trash & Treasure Market at the Fun Clown Shop and a Saturday afternoon session of live music.
Day Two is held in the expansive grounds of historic Langford House, a grand two-story mansion one kilometre south of Walcha.
For the bike riders there is an enjoyable social mountain bike ride, taking in the dirt back roads of Walcha (starting and finishing at Langford).
For the non riders there is plenty to see and do at Langford including; tours of the historic mansion, vintage cars, motorcycles, engines, remote controlled model ships, Fleece to Fashion Awards parades, live entertainment, Devonshire tea in Langford, a variety of market stalls, delicious food, New England Brewing Beers and Whyworry Wines.
The children will be entertained with free activities including a rock climbing wall, bush croquet, facepainting and jumping castle.
